Winter Skincare Made Easier- Herbal Winter Care Tips

During winter the chill in the air makes it necessary for our skin to seek a little more care than usual. The dryness in the atmosphere also adds to the concern.

Always using expensive branded market-available creams, lotion and other products is not a very good idea. Your skin is like the inside of your mouth so, be sure what you are putting inside it as it goes into your bloodstream and can impact your overall wellness in several ways.

In this blog, I will be sharing a few herbal winter care tips following which you can keep your natural beauty well maintained even during the harsh cold seasons.

Let me make you aware of four such tips that would help you-

Buy a packet of full-fat milk (500 ml) and, while warming it, add a few drops of lemon/lime or vinegar. Collect the cheese using a strainer. Take 1 teaspoon of the Chhana water and 1/2 teaspoon of pure turmeric powder and add to the freshly formed Chhana using a spoon.

Keep the mixture in an earthen or ceramic container and refrigerate (not in the deep fridge or freezer) so that it doesn’t rot. It should be enough for a week’s use.

Take a small amount of the mixture from it and rub on your face in circular motions. It will feel like a creamy (pure milk-based cream it is) soft paste blending onto your facial skin. Initially, it will feel like a thick paste and as you keep rubbing your skin softly in circulars it will gently pull out the dirt from your skin gently. Take a few drops of normal water on your palm and continue with the soft massage. Rub all over your face and neck and wash your face as you would normally, using tap water.

Splash water on your face and the thin layer of cream on your face will wash off along with the deposited dirt and stains.

It is excellent for cleaning and moisturizing the skin at the same time. The reason for adding turmeric is its antiseptic properties and skin-friendly add-ons.

People with allergic reactions to milk products shouldn’t use it. Face Wash for Lactose-intolerant Users can also be prepared. Use the Body Wash I am writing about the next here for washing your face if you are allergic to milk.

Make Reetha (Soapnut) water. Take the outer hard shell of Reetha balls and boil them in water till they become half their quantity. Add 1 teaspoon of Flaxseed Powder and 1/2 teaspoon of Xanthan Gum (for turning it into a gel) with 1 teaspoon of Coco Powder or Coffee Powder (for a luxury feel and fragrance). Mix thoroughly with a hand whisker or blender.

A gel-like chocolaty 100% effective Body Wash is ready to keep your body clean and moisturized deeply.

The Flax seed Powder will exfoliate the skin. Coffee or Cocoa powder keeps the skin pampered. Reetha Water is well-known for its superb cleansing properties.

Do not expect it to form foam as it is not being made using any lather-forming chemicals. Rest assured your body skin won’t stay dirty if you use Reetha water.

Yes, massaging oil all over the body and immediately taking a shower doesn’t help much. It needs time for absorption and pouring water over the body and patting or rubbing the skin surface dry doesn’t allow the oil to do its magic.

Oil massage has innumerable benefits that I already discussed before. You can check it here. Take your shower, pat dry slightly and take a little oil to thoroughly massage your body. You won’t need moisturizer. Herbal winter care tips is incomplete without including oils. Oils are never hostile to anyone’s skin once it gets absorbed deeper into the skin.

In case you can afford a wait period of at least 15 minutes and more in between the oil massaging and shower, you can carry on with your habit of oil massaging before the shower.

Bad quality and impure oil will always take longer to absorb and leave a more greasy residue on the skin surface than usual. Be careful of that. Take a little quantity of your preferred cold-pressed extra virgin body massage oil and apply it on your wet or semi-wet body (pat dry slightly to avoid cold) and massage thoroughly. The massage itself will wipe off the thin layer of water from the body and a slight warm sensation will flow through as you keep massaging.

Best to do it before bedtime. Wake up to discover a supple skin the next morning. People who are prone to colds, avoid coconut oil even though it is excellent for the skin. Massage coconut oil on the body only during the daytime.

Yes, adding a few drops of glycerine to your shampoo, body lotion, face cream, moisturizer etc.

Some market-available skincare and haircare items claim to have glycerine as one of their ingredients. Still, do add to your products before using them judiciously. For your shampoo, add 1/2 teaspoon of glycerine. While applying moisturizer, add 1 drop. For massaging your entire body with body lotion, add 1 teaspoon. Use it judiciously.

Make your Body Lotion->

Mix together all the ingredients thoroughly and keep it in a ceramic or glass container. Make it again once the stock finishes.

Make your Moisturizer->

Add two drops of Glycerine for every 1 teaspoon of Aloe Vera Gel and 1/2 teaspoon of Rose Water.

You will benefit from these herbal winter care tips I shared with you all here. These are superb easy to follow and the ingredients you need to collect are readily available. The process also is hassle-free. It comes backed by my good experience with their use.

Thank you. And, thank you Universe 🙏
