Why Sex Education Is Important for Staying Healthy?

India has not always been a conservative nation. Our ancient education system and deep-rooted culture always encouraged sex education better known as Kaam Shastra

With the advent of time, we are now in a modern society where our modern mindset and advanced education system are very much questionable.

No education is complete without Sex Education. Our overall health cannot be holistically healthy if we ignore our sexual health. And, our sexual health only will be improved with our proper education in the matter of sex and everything concerning it.

Sex Education in India is Important

Sex is a very hush-hush subject and an offending word according to many to date. They fail to understand or just refuse to admit that our sexual life and good sexual health are very much a part of our overall well-being

Sex education in India will not expose students to vulnerabilities but will save them. For your kind information, India is the third most porn-watching nation worldwide!

Young people ignorant of sexual facts, like knowledge about their private parts and issues relating to it feel miserable and fall prey to the vices of our society.

Reasons for Sex Education

  • Small children not understanding the difference between good and bad touch is extremely bad for them, which can threaten their security.
  • People, of any age and gender, with no sex education fall prey to false advertisements where it is promised their private parts will transform into some idealized forms and shapes through some medication or tropical application. It robs them of their money and mental peace.
  • People with no sex education also run the danger of ruining their intimate life by harbouring some misconceptions regarding sexual health and body parts
  • Myths and improper knowledge about one’s body, specifically of the private parts, can cause unnecessary anxiety and doubts. This self-doubt can cause mental stress and destroy overall health.
  • Failing to understand and identify the wrong approaches by people around us will make us victims because of our lack of understanding for not getting sufficient sex education
  • Poor knowledge about one’s own body and the reproductive functionality and parts of one’s partner can destroy relationships and deprive one of happiness.

All these can cause serious consequences risking the security and happiness of the people in our country due to the lack of proper sex education.

How Sex Education in India Can Help?

Boosts Holistic Health of An Individual & Society

Our overall health will never be healthy if our sexual health is not okay. To ensure its health, first, we need to acquire an understanding of its various parts. Identify the myths that often confuse us. Also, we should know how to take care of our reproductive system and avoid unwanted situations concerning it in our lives.

Not Let Misinformation Fool Us

Advertisements of intimacy and private parts concerning medicines and tools make false promises and mislead people. It adds to their anxiety and deteriorates their mental health. Had they had proper sex education right from the beginning they would never have given any attention to the false information circulating across TV channels, posters, brochures and newspapers.

It Answers Common Teenage Doubts and Dilemmas

Proper sex education will help an individual feel confident in their body and accept the new changes more positively. Misconceptions and doubts regarding the ‘coming of age’ body changes will not bother them and disturb their mental peace.

Menstruation in girls marks a significant change in their physiological setup and functionality. They have loads of questions crowding their mind. They ask elder females in their families. But, most of the time they also have half knowledge regarding menstruation concerns. Wrong information disturbs the mental peace of young girls,

Proper sex education also discourages a person from feeling discouraged from being provoked with meaningless and silly taunts often done by friends and colleagues. They will know their manhood and femininity are not solely reliant on the size and shape of their private parts. In our country, many people have committed suicide by being taunted by others because of the size of their private parts, sexual orientation and overall sexual health.

Can Help the Innocents Stay Aware & Seek Help

The cases of child abuse and sexual abuse will have a greater chance to decline if people in our society are also educated on the subject of sex and intimacy. Small children and young adults need to be trained in identifying potential threats to the privacy of their bodies.

In our country, people are now becoming more aware of the importance of sex education. The actual implementation of this is still not encouraging. A systematic incorporation of sex education in the academic syllabus and curriculum is still not practised in several places. And, it is a shame!

Is India Yet Ready for Holistically Preparing the Children?

We, in India, do not shy away from making sex jokes. So why do we keep a hush-hush conservative attitude when it comes to empowering our children and others with proper sex education?

Back in ancient times, our forefathers got their lessons from Kaam Shastra. It was an integral part of the overall education system then. Without having a proper understanding of this subject, nobody back in that period used to be considered a fully knowledgeable person.

Our ancient temples and monuments also portray the importance of intimacy and the necessity of its understanding.

The modern education system in our country is, unfortunately, not as modern as it was hundreds of years back!! Sex education in India needs wider acceptance.

We have reached the moon. But, still hesitate to educate our generation about the rights and wrongs of our sexual health.

Parents and Guardians Also Need to Take the Initiative

Talking about sex and our private parts is not Shame-Shame! Parents, Guardians and Teachers need to understand it. Keeping the generation ignorant of sex education will create only chaos and confusion, which will cripple our society with growing depression and depressive acts leading to crimes.

Dear Parents, Sex education doesn’t prompt your children to have sex. Rather it convinces them to delay it and do it when they are both physically and mentally ready for it. The internet and adult magazines can tickle their imagination and make them go wilder than your anticipation. Better, to equip them with proper sex education before it’s too late.

Parents also need to have a proper conversation with their kids to ensure the children do not take the wrong steps with the false information they find online or hear from other half-educated people.

Remember it,

Mental and Physical health together contribute to the holistic well-being of a person. And, protecting one’s sexual health with its proper understanding is an integral part none can neglect. Sex education needs to be a part of our education system to make us educated in its truest sense.

Our sexual health forms the foundation of our strength today and happiness in days to follow.
