My parents need me. I have my spouse who needs me. There are my kids who need me. If this is what your “I have a personal life” is all about, you are miles away from happiness and real growth.

There is nothing wrong with spending quality time with your family and friends. But, it is also not Right to never spend time with yourself. Happiness doesn’t touch your soul if you neglect yourself, playing different roles in life just for others.

At your leisure hours and on your off days, a certain portion of free time is to be invested in YOU only. A happy soul makes other souls happier.

SEEK ISOLATION
No, dear, you need not always run for the hills or at a remote location for it. Simply, walk away to a space you can claim to be exclusively yours. Your Room, Balcony, Terrace, or any Corner of your space you can seek refuge. Find it. Sit there and Do Nothing. It feels wonderful.

PRACTISE WRITING


Wording your thoughts, feelings, desires, frustrations, disappointments, and a range of emotions is a million-dollar therapy in itself. Try it, and sense the sigh of relief your soul experiences. Diary writing is a great way to spend Me Time. Do you love poetry? Why don’t you try it and be creative about it?

HAVE A HOBBY
Don’t just enlist them to impress others. Dig deeper and discover what activity truly interests you. It can be Painting, Reading, Drawing, Gardening, Cooking, Singing, Dancing or Playing Instruments. What, none of this you can? No worries at all. Only these do not get as hobbies to be added to your Me Time.

Watching Movies, Web Series, and TV Shows also count. Taking a short tour nearby counts too. And, so does doing Art or Stamp or Coin Collections (anything).

Get busy doing an activity that you like and nurture it further to stay in love with it and feel the joy. It helps.

The motto behind managing time for “Me Time” is self-care. But, the Self-Care being highlighted here is doing things to keep you physically and mentally healthy as well as beautiful. Do exercise. Pamper your skin and hair with safe beauty treats. Meditate. Look after your health. Shop for yourself (that doesn’t mean never to shop for others).

It can be any part of the town or city you stay. It can be any place of your choice in your state. Are you rich? Go on a solo trip to other nations. No matter how far or near the place it is, just allow yourself get a sense of freedom in checking places all on your own.

There are many different innovative ways to enjoy “Me Time” that you can customize to suit your preferences. Spend exclusive time selfishly with yourself sometimes whatever you choose to do during it.
