We all know how good health lays the foundation of a good life. A few good habits followed in our daily lifestyle can remarkably improve and enhance our overall health.
I will be sharing with you five valuable tips for good health (I also maintain) that you can follow to enjoy holistic well-being. These small habits (health mantras) can make a greater impact positively on anyone’s life as I believe and I have realised.
So let’s start counting our blessings without beating around the bush-
1. Start Your Day Praying/Thanking the Almighty
Start your day thanking the universe or the almighty for all the things you already have in your life and for the opportunity to see the light of a new day. You can also do your morning prayers. In brief, start your day being humble and grateful for the good things in your life. Close your eyes while doing so and it will be like a small but effective meditation. Even if it is for a minute, it helps!
2. Practice Pranayam/A few free-hand exercises
Do Pranayam or breathing exercises before getting down from your bed as it will help you in ways better than you can imagine. Kapal Bharti, Bhastrika, Anulom Vilom and Brahmari pranayams are what I would recommend as I also follow these. For reference, I have shared a link (click on the boldened text here) to one of the YouTube videos that caught my attention. You can check other videos too or can learn it from a teacher directly as well.
If doing Pranayam doesn’t interest you much then also I suggest practising one simple breathing technique where you only need to inhale deeply and exhale deeply through your nose at least 10 times. To start with do ten times only. You can stretch it to 2-3 sets of 10 deep inhalation-exhalation each. This too would help if other Pranayams feel tough or disinterest you.
A few free-hand exercises in the morning also help besides your regular workout regime. Stretch your hands and legs as you would after waking up or sitting for long hours. Give your body some light turns and twists as much as you are comfortable with. You can try the eye exercises that I mentioned in my other blogs under Beauty section. All these light-form body movements can help your physical setup profoundly and take not even 15 minutes.
3) Have Triphala Water Kept Overnight in an Earthen Pot
I would suggest mixing one and a half teaspoon of Triphala powder with a glass of water kept inside an earthen pot overnight. If for any reason you cannot manage to get an earthen pot then keep triphala water inside a ceramic or glass container. One of the best all-time good tips for good health it is.
Have this Triphala-infused water first thing in the morning before having anything else and after doing your Pranayam or any form of exercise you do. Never Do Exercise or Pranayam After Having Water.
4) Have 1-2 Amla Fruits
I highly recommend having one or two Indian Gooseberries or Amla every day except for 2 days a week. The benefits of Amla cannot be detailed here in this one paragraph as it is indeed a Shreephal in its truest sense as described in the Ayurveda. Any tips for good health are incomplete without it as it is loaded with Vitamin C and antioxidants but is readily available at affordable rates. Also, doesn’t cause acidity like lemons/limes do in some cases.
5) Say Goodnight with Golden Milk
My Amrit. If you are not lactose intolerant then I would suggest having a small cup of lukewarm milk mixed with a pinch of pure turmeric powder and black pepper.

Have this Golden milk that would be like nectar to your health after at least half an hour of your dinner. If possible do not sleep immediately but after a gap of at least 10 to 15 minutes.
