“My Foot”- Well, Your Feet Are Important Too

Small babies are the favorites of the Universe and, maybe, that is why they are so beautiful and innocent. They appreciate and value what the universe has given them more than we do.

We all have seen how lovingly they put their feet into their mouth as if they are expressing their deepest gratitude and appreciation for the tasks that the feet do for them. While growing up we learned and developed an ungrateful and taken-for-granted attitude towards our feet.

Our common dialogue in rage and disgust is – ” My foot..”. The least attention any of our body parts receives from us is our pair of feet. Something that needs to be set right soon. Footcare is not a luxury, but a necessity.

This is our feet, which in coordination with other body parts, help us to stand and allow us to move to go wherever we wish. They bear the weight, stay pressed down facing the dirt and dust directly on the ground to help us stand up. So, acknowledge and appreciate its contribution towards beautifying and enhancing our lives. Learn to value it properly.

Show Some Love

Say “thank you” to all your body parts including your Feet. No, I’m not suggesting you put your feet inside your mouth as any baby would. But, there is definitely no shame in sending a flying kiss to your feet, looking at it lovingly. Oh dear, your feet deserve this treatment in their all rights. Show love and gratitude to them. Brush your hands lovingly on them and feel good about them. This is the easiest foot care you can do anytime when you are relaxing.

Do Some Beneficial Foot Exercises

One might say when you do other exercises your feet too are getting charged up with useful movements. Absolutely right you are! But, I can help by telling you about a few easy exercises that will benefit them further as these are especially meant for them. It will take your foot care regime to the next level.

1) Fold the toe fingers and release them. Again fold them back and release them. Do it 10 times each for 3-4 sets. 30-40 times this folding and releasing action you should do with a few seconds of rest in between each set.

2) Stand up with the support of your toe fingers. Remember the scene from Titanic where Kate Winslet (Rose) was displaying her ballet skill by standing up on her toes? Don’t get alarmed, please! You don’t need to go extreme.

Try to stand based on your toe fingers for a few seconds and immediately return to the normal standing posture (with the entire foot placed firmly on the ground just like we humans stand and rest our feet on the ground).

Rise standing on your toe fingers and immediately bring down the heels to rest on the ground. Do like this 10 times each for 3 sets.

3) Bend your toe fingers upward towards the ceiling using your left hand (or the right hand in case you are a Leftie) and use the knuckle of your other hand’s fingers to rub the sole of your feet, starting from the base of the toe fingers and stretching right down the heels, giving vertical massage strokes. Any sort of foot pain will vanish.

Perfect Foot Care Beauty Solution

Add 1 and 1/2 teaspoons of shaving alum powder (fitkari). Heat the shaving alum on a non-stick pan, and it will melt. This action will trigger its healing properties. Keep the molten fitkari aside to cool down, and it will harden. Scrape off the hardened fitkari using a sharp object like the handle of a spoon. Grind the chunks. You get your medicinal shaving alum powder.

Mix the powder with pure coconut, olive, or sesame oil. Coconut oil is preferable, but others will do fine. Keep the solution mixed in a glass or ceramic container.

Take 2-3 drops from it and rub gently all over your feet including the heels. It will heal the skin of your foot and preserve its natural beauty besides keeping cracked heels concerns at bay. It has antiseptic qualities too.

Do these 3 treatments and see how your feet start responding better to your effortless physical mobility needs. Your feet are also an integral body part. Treat them nicely for an overall impact.
