We have come to this world to be happy and feel joyful. Life needs not be a constant struggle. It can be beautiful provided we know how to think beautifully.
At several stages in my life and on many occasions I could not always keep a positive mindset. I had my share of struggles, frustrations, disappointments and heartaches. But, I have found my way to happiness and wish all of you to find it in your life now, yes right now!
Keeping a healthy and positive thought process and a good mindset is easy once we focus on what we want to have, what we want to be and what we want to do.
So, let’s open the treasure of happiness in our lives-
Start Appreciating
Most of the time people complain about what they don’t have. Being busy anticipating what they don’t have or what they lack makes them blind to all the good things they already have.
It results in the feeling of not so happy, depressed, frustrated, agitated, anxious, angry and complicated.
To find happiness start appreciating every small and big thing you already have in your life, you already are and you already have been blessed with in your life. Take a break. Appreciate the beautiful things in your life to break free from the shackles of chronic dissatisfaction and frustration.
Be Grateful
Practice gratitude once you have discovered the beautiful things that are already in your life. What practising gratitude is all about? It is a very simple attitude and action with a fancy term. Be THANKFUL & express it!
Be grateful, be humble and say Thank You (sincerely) for having those nice things and being those beautiful things in your life already. You have those things that you have earned, received and did your part of the task to achieve and some of the things you have been just blessed with, right? So be thankful for these to the universe or to God, whatever term you prefer to describe that unseen divine power.
Not being grateful for the beautiful things that are there in your life can make you lose them eventually. So, shift your focus from the lack to the presence of the things and achievements you already have.
Be grateful so that it keeps multiplying in your life.
Good People also Count
Being grateful only for the things and achievements you have made in your life is very good. Even better it will be if you also care to remember and recall every person in your life who has been good to you, helpful to you and has been a good supporter or in any way has served you or is continuing to serve you.
It includes your parents, friends, partner, maids, servants, service providers, colleagues, random strangers (sometimes they do help when asked for, right), teachers, instructors, and all those who help make your day feel better.
Close your eyes and say thank you to them if they are not physically present around, at present.
When someone does good for you or helps you somehow, say “Thank You”. To many, saying “thank you” feels and sounds like a formality. Do it with sincerity and feelings.
Do yourself a favour–practice formality and see how it improves the quality of your life.
Not Everything Needs a Response
Our society encourages us to be more opinionated for displaying our intellect and strength. This trait is considered to be the quality of a strong person.
But, have you ever given any thought to the fact that you are wasting your energy and time in delivering your opinion to causes that could have been avoided being a problem at ease? What’s the necessity of converting every situation into a drama? Don’t we have better things to do in our life and with our life?
If somebody doesn’t agree with you, listen to their opinion, and then simply forget. Accept that every individual can have a different opinion and it’s okay as long as it is not imposed forcefully on you.
You are the creator of your life and your thought process is the influencer of every situation that happens in your life. You are not a tree that you need to stay affixed at a particular spot. Next time, if you see your surroundings and the people there are causing you conflict, walk away from them respectfully and be in your comfort space.
Arguing with people will only drain your positive energy, leaving you engulfed with negativity.
You want to be happy and peaceful. Stop arguing with people from now on and do exactly what you feel right to do and be what wanna be.
Keep Your Circle Small
As already explained to you why you need not be opinionated and argumentative with people who cause you conflict, it is best to keep your circle small with people who matter.
Fill your close circle with people who–
1)Love to live peacefully.
2)Respect other people’s boundaries and opinions.
3)Stay happy and positive.
4)Laughs with you, rather than mocking or belittling you.
5)Truly happy in your happiness and progress.
6)See you as a Companion (friends, family, partner whatever), rather than a Competitor.
7)Know how to have a good time.
8) Encourage you instead of dumping their doubts on you.
If you do not find any such people, be your best friend and learn to stay happy in your company.
I can assure you nobody in this world can be a better well-wisher than you are to yourself.
Protect your mental peace and positivity by being in good company. If it is only you, better that be!
Leave your baggage behind
We all have passed through stages and situations in life where things went topsy turvy, leaving us disappointed, frustrated, hurt and filled with so many other negative emotions.
If your ankle gets twisted you feel the pain surely. But, will it be a sensible thing to carry those feelings of pain all through the remaining part of your life? Answer this question in your mind and then proceed to the next paragraph.
When we forget about the physical pain and are confident enough to walk again why cannot we do the same with emotional suffering? Leave all your emotional baggages behind, right now.
Whatever had happened is over and today is a new day. Today and tomorrow new chapters will be written and You are the writer. You are the writer of your journey that starts from today onwards.
There is no such thing as a pre-decided and scribbled-on stone called destiny. Create your life the way you want with positivity and hopefulness.
It will be possible only if you want to feel lighter and more comfortable by dropping off the old baggages that serves you no more.
Remember,
If you want to change your life, change yourself first and fast for the change to happen now.
Start with practising gratitude and focusing on all the points mentioned here. Also, follow the ones that you think will help to improve your life. Feel happiness every single moment round the clock.
Negative thoughts will come knocking at the door of your mind. It is natural. Just remember not to respond and open the door. Ignore the doorbell and continue pampering the positivity you welcomed inside.
I’m sharing the interview video of The Secret author Mizz Rhonda Byrne, hosted by Oprah Winfrey from YouTube. I believe all will benefit from it.
Happiness is reaching you now. Welcome it with open arms. Hurray!
